We hate that people just assume we're more expensive than other stores. We hate that these people assume this and have never come in the store before. We hear this once in a while from friends telling us what they hear other people say, and it's sad. Granted, some stuff we sell, other chain stores can afford to sell it cheaper because they buy bigger quantities and get cheaper prices from the distributors. But in general, we're not more expensive, and some of our stuff gets shipped from far away and we gotta add in shipping costs to the price.

But even if we were more expensive, why wouldn't a vegan want to support a vegan-owned, all-vegan store? Even if it's for a little treat here and there. I guess we sometimes make the mistake of assuming people have the same ethics we do.

Oh yeah, and also, this rumor that we're trust-fund kids. Man, we fucking wish. Do you know how much easier our lives would be if we were? We started the store with credit cards for fuck's sake! And we're not here to get rich. If you didn't know, there is no money in vegan groceries, yo.
