Let Live Series: Culinary Activism w/ Isa Moskowitz

December 28, 2008, marks the third installment of the Let Live Series, a monthly series of speakers, workshops and social events dedicated to promoting animal rights activism and education in Portland, Oregon. The upcoming workshop features culinary activist Isa Chandra Moskowitz, celebrated author of Veganomicon: The Ultimate Vegan Cookbook, Vegan with a Vengeance and Vegan Cupcakes Take over the World.

Moskowitz’s unique approach to activism focuses on education through better food choices, rather than traditional methods. “A tomato can be a revolutionary tool. My goal is to empower people in the kitchen and give them practical skills to change the world one sandwich at a time,” says Moskowitz, whose workshop includes tips on how to get vegan food to the masses, organizing bake sales and potlucks for fundraising and everyday activism.

Whether you are a seasoned activist, curious student or health food connoisseur seeking to enhance your repertoire, this workshop has something for everyone. The Culinary Activism Workshop featuring Isa Chandra Moskowitz will be held on December 28, 2008, at 1p.m. at Portland State University in Room 238 of the Smith Memorial Union Building. Admission is free.

The Let Live Series is brought to you by the Let Live Foundation, Vegans for Animal Advocacy, Food Fight Grocery and Herbivore Magazine.
